Hotfrog Directory - Join up

Better late than never. Get increased exposure and a choice backlink to your website. I’ve just joined Hotfrog, New Zealand Business Directory which started in June 2008.  You should too.

Hotfrog New Zealand Business DirectoryHotfrog FAQs tell us the site launched their New Zealand online business directory last year and has over 200,000 businesses.  They say some businesses were automatically listed through public online published information.

Check if you’re there already. Mine wasn’t there but is now.  I checked for a bunch of business clients and they weren’t there either. So check yours.  Even if you are listed you’ll need to complete the long description full of your keyword phrases.

The listing process is easy and uses very SEO smart devices allowing you to choose your own keyword phrases.  And, you can select several, multiple word keyword search phrases.  Now that is smart internet marketing. I’m indeed impressed.

If you don’t know your keyword phrases, research them asap and include them in your listing. (You better keep reading the SEO section of my blog before you poor money down the drain).

Did I say it was free? Yes. While I have no idea on performance yet, it’s a sizeable directory and I get a backlink, so it gets my tick.

Check out my listing if you want a guide.  It is not a time to say just a few words.  Spell it out, use all your keyword phrases (phrases that your customers use).

Register here.

  1. ‘poor’ money down the drain?

Yep pouring money down the drain will certainly make you poor!

I get offers every day of ‘paid for’ directories and they all say how wonderful they are and how well they will rank me. Even more ‘entertaining offers’ usually promise front page rankings on Google!

I have worked out the better they rank them selves and more they charge, the less likely it is that they are bona fide.

I’ve been using hotfrog for ages now, both for my own and my clients websites. They have good PR with Google, so hotfrog gets my tick for sure!

There are other free ones out there as well, not to be forgotten - www.truelocal.com.au and www.buildingzone.com.au are two of my other favourites that have served me well.

:) definately agree - “the best things in life are free…”
