Yahoo to Use Google AdWords
Interesting net news for business owners using Google AdWords to increase traffic to their website, an agreement with Yahoo has taken place. Very good news for us.
According to my online sources as of mid June 2008, Yahoo finally ended merger talks with Microsoft.According to my online sources as of mid June 2008, Yahoo finally ended merger talks with Microsoft.
It’s early days to know if this move will get blocked by industry watchers shouting unfair monopoly practices. Also, can’t tell yet if NZ will come on board with Yahoo using Google AdWords.
The big advantage to NZ business owners is the increased ‘real estate’ size for displaying their Pay Per Click Ads on AdWords. This is good news for us.
My Net sources say…
“Agreeing instead to a search partnership with Google, Yahoo gets to deploy Google AdWords on its site at its own discretion. Google and Yahoo are the top two search providers, which is why many expect the deal to receive hardcore regulatory scrutiny. Sources told Reuters that Microsoft is already reaching out to advocacy groups, saying the Google-Yahoo agreement will “limit choices for advertisers and publishers.”
Google and Yahoo like a marriage made in heaven at the altar. I have huge respect for the Google guys and their 10 year old company taking on their mega mission to democratise all of mankind’s recorded knowledge for easy access (how’s that for a mission statement) and having a nephew who works as an ad manager for Yahoo in San Francisco, I see nothing but positives in this alliance.
I never could see Microsoft blending with Google for any productive outcome. But Yahoo, that promises to be fruitful for all.
Keeps net watching interesting. Stay tuned.
