Increasing Traffic 101

Increasing Website Traffic
Increasing traffic is fundamental to reaching your website goal and sound website advice. Your party wouldn’t be a success, if no one came. Same with websites.
Two main categories of traffic tactics are talked about. Both are needed. Some silly. Some sensible.
- Offline tactics –things we did before the Internet– like running ads, radio, brochures, flyers, signs.
- Online tactics –besides search engines, think directories - fee and free such as your industry site or chamber site, inbound links from business partners and more and more sites popping up wanting to be the default portal selling site eg Trade Me in New Zealand or Ebay USA.
My future articles will help you learn more. Example - use Blogs not e-newsletters.
Read my frequent posts here in the category Increasing Traffic. This is where I give more details and tips pertinent to each business sector. I write about silly money and time wasters and the many sensible old standard traffic tactics that work for websites or blogs.
One newish thing (early 2001) you might start using or be left behind is the networking software. For example, take advantage of new publishing technolology and use a blog these days instead of time consuming costly newsletters. You publish daily or weekly and your customer subscribes in at least three different ways so they get your articles delivered as they want them. It’s the way business sites are moving. Get your designer to transfer your website look and feel, then you are the editor. Publish helpful information daily or quarterly whatever your customer wants. Remember, solving their problem, easily, is one way to convert them to loyal repeat customers.
